Most of the commonly used cancer therapies in particular Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy are immunosuppressive and highly toxic to the bone marrow, which is the source to all cells of the immune system. Neutropaenia and other forms of myelosuppression are often the dose-limiting toxicity of these therapies.

NGPDT is a novel and uniquely effective cancer therapy employing a safe and highly efficient ‘sixth generation’ photo sensitizer agent activated by a novel harmless ‘Next Generation PDT’ LED light bed and laser system to treat many forms of solid and systemic cancer.

Unlike other treatments such as Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy, NGPDT is useful in treating all cancer cell types, whether small cell or non-small cell type carcinoma.

WHAT IS PDT?

Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) is a first generation therapy that is approved by FDA as a form of cancer therapy. It is a minimally invasive therapeutic modality and consists of three elements:

1.   A Photo-synthesizer agent is administered topically or systematically into the body where it specifically accumulates in abnormal tissues (cancer cells).
2.   A light of specific wavelength usually in the visible range and commonly generated by laser sources, is precisely delivered to the target tissues.
3.   The light induces/activates the agent to release singlet oxygen and reactive oxygen species that are harmful to the host cancer cell mediating cellular cytotoxicity, damaging cellular structures thus cell death.
